Kyra Butt

As the Forum’s Executive Coordinator, Kyra assumes a pivotal role in overseeing and managing all facets of the President & CEO’s schedule, from internal and external meetings to complex travel arrangements spanning multiple time zones. Kyra also lends her organizational prowess to major events such as the annual Leading the Way convening, managing logistical aspects such as speakers, program coordination, registration, and technology.

Prior to joining the Forum, Kyra was the Social Media Lead for Project Olive Grove, a newly established nonpartisan organization seeking to cultivate an informed American electorate. In 2022, Kyra served a one-year term as National Women’s Officer for the New Zealand International Students’ Association (NZISA), where she facilitated communication between international students, academic institutions, and policy makers. Notably, she advocated for subsidized reproductive healthcare for international students in New Zealand and promoted the importance of intersectional approaches to women’s rights issues. In 2020, Kyra pioneered a successful fundraiser for Black Lives Matter-affiliated organizations during her term as Philanthropy Chair for Delta Phi Epsilon’s University of California, Berkeley chapter.

Born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Kyra has also lived in Hong Kong, Canada, New Zealand, and the United States. In 2020, Kyra was awarded the Alumni of the University of Otago in America Inc. Award to study Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley for a semester abroad. In 2022, Kyra earned her B.A. in Philosophy, Politics & Economics (PPE) from the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand.
