Urgency for Dreamers Remains Following Supreme Court’s Decision

WASHINGTON, D.C. — This morning the Supreme Court denied a writ of certiorari and declined at this time to hear the Trump administration’s challenge to a lower court’s ruling regarding Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). The following is a quote from Ali Noorani, Executive Director of the National Immigration Forum:

“The Supreme Court has made the right decision by allowing this to play out in the lower courts. However, the question at hand is about the particular process the Trump administration used to end DACA, not whether he may end the program or not.

“The fate of hundreds of thousands of Dreamers is still in question. Therefore, the urgency of a permanent legislative solution remains.”
