WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today the National Immigration Forum announced the appointment of two new board members, Danielle Burr of Uber and Mustafa Tameez of Outreach Strategists.
“This is a critical time for immigration in America, and we are glad for the experience Danielle and Mustafa bring to our board,” said Ali Noorani, Executive Director of the National Immigration Forum. “Their leadership will help us continue to advocate for practical, compassionate immigration solutions that uphold our nation’s values and help all Americans thrive.”
Danielle Burr is the Head of Federal Affairs for Uber. She has previously held positions in the offices of House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Republican Senate Whip John Kyl, and has worked in the private sector providing strategic counsel for trade associations, nonprofits and Fortune 500 companies.
“I have long admired the hard work and the critical voice the Forum offers,” Burr said. “I am honored to be joining its board today and look forward to contributing my voice to the faith and business leaders that have done so much to support immigrants across the U.S.”
Mustafa Tameez is the Managing Director of Outreach Strategists. His background in politics, national security, media, and community relations, has helped him carve out a niche as a strategic consultant across multiple disciplines. With over 600 appearances on Fox News, CNN, MSNBC and local television, Mustafa is an opinion leader and a public affairs consultant. Texas Monthly named him one of 5 political players to watch, and he frequently comments in the New York Times, Washington Post, and Houston Chronicle.
“The fabric of our nation is woven by our individual stories of migration,” Tameez said. “Some of us are first generation, others have been here for many generations, but it is this story of migration that we all share – whether our ancestors came here by ship, by plane, or on foot. I’m honored to be part of the National Immigration Forum because it moves our nation’s shared story of immigration forward.”
