Clara Villatoro
Assistant Vice President of Strategic Communications
As the Forum’s Assistant Vice President of Strategic Communications, Clara Villatoro is responsible for crafting press releases and statements well as managing the production of The Forum Daily newsletter. She shapes the Forum’s strategic message by cultivating relationships with the media and developing communication strategy around key advocacy campaigns.
Prior to joining the Forum in September 2022, Clara served as the Program Coordinator at the Pulte Institute for Global Development’s Central American Human Rights and Democracy Program. She also completed a Partnerships Fellowship at the United Nations Development Programme and has worked in communications at universities. As a reporter for La Prensa Grafica, she covered public health, economics, the environment, and education, publishing over 900 articles in Salvadoran and international media. In 2014, she coauthored a public health study published in the journal Nature. Originally from San Salvador, El Salvador, she holds a Master in Multimedia Journalism degree from the University of the Basque Country and a Master of Global Affairs from the University of Notre Dame, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Communication from the University of Central America. She is a bilingual speaker of Spanish and English.
