Westchester Community College was one of New American Workforce’s first partners in the greater New York City area and has offered the opportunity to receive free citizenship assistance to their 2,000 employees. The college has hosted multiple citizenship information and application workshops for employees, students, and family members. Thanks to its partnership with New American Workforce, Pablo Cortes-Encinales, a communications and media arts student at Westchester Community College, was able to apply for citizenship.
Pablo recognizes the benefits that citizenship will offer him and his family. He states, “I chose to pursue citizenship because I’ve been living in this country for a long time, my family and my dreams are here. The family I have here makes me feel proud, helps me follow my dreams and pursue my happiness. New American Workforce was wonderful! Everyone was very nice, understandable, helpful and patient. The experience was an amazing success.”
