WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today Sens. Thom Tillis (R-North Carolina), James Lankford (R-Oklahoma) and Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) introduced the SUCCEED Act.

The bill would give certain young undocumented immigrants the opportunity to earn legal status if they meet specific requirements, pass an extensive criminal background check and then maintain gainful employment, earn a postsecondary or vocational degree, serve honorably in the military for at least three years, or some combination of the three.

Tillis will be the keynote speaker at next week’s Forum convening, “Leading the Way: A New Approach to American Immigration.”

“Senators Tillis, Lankford and Hatch have offered a constructive, conservative solution to protect Dreamers from deportation, get them on the path to full integration into American society and help American workers,” said Ali Noorani, Executive Director of the National Immigration Forum. “We look forward to working with the senators. Republicans and Democrats must find a legislative solution that ensures young people contributing to America can remain in the only country they know as home.”

The National Immigration Forum is hosting an Oct. 5 convening in Washington, D.C., to advance a constructive way forward on immigration that will serve our nation’s interests. Click here for more information and to register.
