WASHINGTON, D.C. — Tonight in Phoenix, President Trump returned to border security and interior enforcement as the exclusive components of his immigration policy.
“We need sound and effective border security that doesn’t bankrupt American workers,” said Jacinta Ma, Director of Policy and Advocacy at the National Immigration Forum. “Threatening a government shutdown if Congress does not force taxpayers to spend tens of billions of dollars on a border wall is irresponsible. Border communities oppose a wall.
“Safe communities depend on law enforcement building and maintaining trust with immigrant communities. Immigration enforcement cannot undermine that trust.”
