Naturalizations in the Military: A Recent Decline

Military naturalizations dropped 57 percent in the first half of fiscal year (FY) 2018 compared to the same period in FY 2017 after the Defense Department issued new policy changes on October 13, 2017, to the naturalization process for military service members and veterans, which makes it harder for them to naturalize.
