WASHINGTON, D.C. — More than 200 national security, law enforcement, faith and business leaders from across the country are meeting in Washington, D.C., today and tomorrow to advocate for secure, humane immigration solutions.
Panelists at today’s general session will address immigration and competitiveness, border realities, what’s next for immigration as we face the reality of a new Trump administration, and legislation at the state level. Elaine Duke, a Council on National Security and Immigration leader and former Department of Homeland Security acting secretary during the Trump administration, will give a keynote address.
Many attendees also will be meeting with their congressional offices this week to seek border and immigration solutions that merge security and compassion — including certainty for Dreamers and our Afghan allies.
“We are here to address the very real challenges we face regarding the border and immigration and to continue advocating for solutions that reaffirm longstanding American values,” said Jennie Murray, President and CEO of the National Immigration Forum and National Immigration Forum Action Fund. “Congress and the incoming administration must prioritize human dignity, family unity, economic strength, and respect for the rule of law.”
Murray, other convening speakers, regional leaders and some other attendees are available for interview. Please contact Dan Gordon.
