Rebuilding a life after fleeing violence and persecution is an enormous undertaking. But it’s one that can be lightened by a welcoming community. On this week’s episode of Let’s Talk Immigration, field mobilizer Jason Lief sits down with Garrett Pearson, Executive Director of City of Refuge, a Missouri-based nonprofit dedicated to helping refugees recover and regain control of their lives. Together, they discuss what it looks like for a refugee to settle and begin establishing a home in the United States—from finding work to fighting misconceptions.
