Washington, D.C. — The Alliance for a New Immigration Consensus (ANIC), a coalition of 35 organizations, is encouraged that Congress is exploring a permanent solution for Dreamers, immigrants who were brought to America as children.

We desperately need a permanent solution for hundreds of thousands of individuals whose temporary protections are at risk,” ANIC coalition members said in a joint statement. “Dreamers contribute to our society and economy in very important ways, and a permanent solution would provide certainty to their employers and schools, and to many more young people who know America as home.

“Over the past year, conservatives and moderates have consistently demonstrated their strong support for common-sense solutions that modernize our system and secure our borders. These solutions will help America’s labor force and can help counter inflation.”
