WASHINGTON, D.C. — With the launch today of the Corporate Roundtable for the New American Workforce, leading businesses are advancing strategies to help new Americans integrate — and the American workforce thrive.
Founding members and co-chairs include Chobani and Walmart Inc. Other Corporate Roundtable participants include Driscoll’s, Lyft, Ben & Jerry’s Homemade Inc., Marriott and Uber, among others.
Also today, in an open letter, business leaders are highlighting the importance of their diverse workforce and encouraging all American companies to offer immigrant integration services at the worksite.
The letter reads in part, “As a collection of global companies and business leaders, we are grateful to the 41 million immigrants from all over the world who came to the United States to raise their families, seek an education, and contribute to our communities and companies. They represent one in six workers and help America remain economically strong in a globally competitive market.”
Additional businesses may sign on to the letter here.
“As the U.S. labor force continues to grow and diversify, it’s critical that companies come together and continue to support immigrant workers. The Corporate Roundtable for the New American Workforce offers a conduit,” said Jennie Murray, Director of Integration Programs at the National Immigration Forum.
