‘A Strong Step Forward’

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The following is a quote from Jennie Murray, President and CEO of the National Immigration Forum, on today’s report of a potential bipartisan deal on immigration and the border.

“This is exactly the kind of bipartisan problem-solving Americans want,” said Jennie Murray, President and CEO of the National Immigration Forum. “This reported framework is a strong step forward for this Congress to arrive at actual solutions. Americans know we need these kinds of solutions to address inflation, labor turmoil and border challenges.”

In polling last month of 1,000 registered voters, 73% overall, including 70% of self-identified conservatives, support “Republicans and Democrats working together now, in 2022, on immigration reforms that strengthen border security, allow immigrants brought to the United States as children to earn citizenship, and ensure a legal, reliable workforce for America’s farmers and ranchers.”
