Commonsense Immigration Reform

Commonsense immigration reform will provide a better life for many hardworking individuals and families, giving them the security they need to participate fully in our country. It will improve our nation’s ability to compete globally by addressing market and workforce demands and by attracting and retaining new Americans.

The National Immigration Forum supports replacing our broken immigration system with commonsense solutions that address the full scope of the system. Our immigration laws have not been significantly updated in more than 20 years, leading to long waits for family members to reunite, no or few options for the migration of necessary workers, and millions of undocumented immigrants left to live in the shadows.
