Practical Solutions for Immigrants and America

The National Immigration Forum, the leading non-governmental agency advocating for the value of immigrants and immigration to the United States, holds an annual fundraiser along with its sister organization, the National Immigration Forum Action Fund. The Keepers of the American Dream Awards event recognizes and celebrates distinguished individuals, foundations and corporations that have demonstrated real leadership on behalf of immigrants. The people and organizations that the Forum honors advocate daily for the value of immigrants and immigration in our society.

Event participants include members of Congress, the diplomatic community and the Administration, corporate and philanthropic leaders and the community-at-large that works to support immigration reform.

This year's honorees are:

Jonathan Plutzik Randi Weingarten Wal-Mart
  • Jonathan Plutzik, Chairman of the Betsy – South Beach and key supporter of the Bethlehem Project in Miami, to receive the Heroes of the American Dream Award
  • Randi Weingarten, President of the American Federation of Teachers, to receive the Heroes of the American Dream Award
  • Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. to receive the Heroes of the American Dream Award
