Catalina Talero

Building on a 20-year career in community development and philanthropy, Catalina joins the National Immigration Forum as Vice President and Chief of Advancement. She has served as a nonprofit leader on both sides of the development table, with extensive expertise as a funder and a CFRE-certified fundraiser. Catalina has gained experience in senior-level nonprofit service at organizations such as: Council for a Strong America, the Fund for Global Human Rights, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington. Catalina is fluent in Spanish, conversant in French, and her academic expertise is in civic education. She received an honors bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Toronto and a master’s degree in human and organizational development from George Washington University. During her time at GW, she received a Fulbright fellowship for research focusing on civic engagement and peace education among youth in Colombia while affiliated with Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá. She is from a first-generation American family, and often feels very fortunate to serve other immigrant families alongside her stellar colleagues at the Forum.
