WASHINGTON, D.C. — The following is a statement from Ali Noorani, Executive Director of the National Immigration Forum:

“As Thanksgiving arrives, many of us are worried about what lies ahead for our country and our neighbors. Our neighbors include so many people who feel threatened — immigrants and refugees, but also Americans of every race, creed and color who feel left behind.

“This holiday, let us unite around our shared values of freedom, of having a safe place to call home, of working together to make our country better. Let us recognize our neighbors as people who cherish these same values. That’s how we will build stronger communities and a stronger country.”
