Delayed Naturalization Fee Increase

On Tuesday Sept 29, 2020 a federal court in San Francisco issued a preliminary nationwide injunction that will prevent the fee rule increases for immigration services from going into effect on October 2, 2020.The ruling found that going ahead with the fee increase would irreparably harm immigrants who could not afford the increase, and that the rule was made during a period in which the past two heads of the Department of Homeland Security were most likely appointed illegally. It is possible that the Administration will challenge this ruling and try to secure a stay of the injunction, but until that happens, now is the time to naturalize.
