Family Violence Prevention Fund
The Family Violence Prevention Fund works to prevent violence within the home, and in the community, to help those whose lives are devastated by violence because everyone has the right to live free of violence. Focusing on gender violence issues, the FVPF has prepared a letter for Congress that focuses on the negative impact of the Clear Law Enforcement for Criminal Alien Removal Act (CLEAR) for immigrant survivors.
Fight Crime: Invest in Kids
This is a nonpartisan, nonprofit anti-crime organization led by more than 2,000 police chiefs, sheriffs, prosecutors, victims of violence and leaders of police officer associations. It provides information and strategies proven to be effective in early child care and education programs for school age children. Its website offers various reports on youth violence, after school programs, etc.
National Immigration Forum
The National Immigration Forum seeks to embrace and uphold America's tradition as a nation of immigrants. The Forum advocates and builds public support for public policies that welcome immigrants and refugees and that are fair and supportive to newcomers in our country. Its website has a wealth of information and advocacy materials on immigration enforcement issues.
National Immigration Law Center (NILC)
Dedicated to protecting and promoting the rights of low income immigrants and their family members, NILC has earned a national reputation as a leading expert on immigration, public benefits, and employment laws affecting immigrants and refugees. It offers various information, position papers and articles on arrest and detention issues.
The Office for Victims of Crime
Enhances the nation's capacity to assist crime victims and to providing leadership in changing attitudes, policies, and practices to promote justice and healing for victims of crime. Offers various reports and information on vicitim assistance, domestic violence, etc. For immigrant related articles, use the search engine.
Partnering for Prevention and Community Safety Initiative (PfP)
Seeks to identify and help implement promising practices for building relationships between federal, state, and local law enforcement and American Muslim, Arab, and Sikh communities. Such partnerships enhance counterterrorism initiatives, protect communities from hate crimes and hate incidents, and help preserve American civil liberties.
Rescue & Restore Victims of Human Trafficking Campaign
A project of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), it helps identify and assist victims of human trafficking in the United States. Its website contains toolkits for service providers, law enforcement and social service organizations.
Transforming Communities: Creating Safety and Justice for Women and Girls
Creating Safety and Justice for Women and Girls was created as a learning center for the advancement of new thinking, practices and strategies to prevent violence against women and girls. Its website provides information on legal activism, campaign planning, surveys, case studies, and examples of community mobilization related to domestic violence and sexual assault.
