The following organizations provide outstanding IDs and Licenses programs, activities, or information. We are collecting information on local organizations engaged on IDs and Licenses activities and/or issues. If you would like your organization featured, please send us your information.

American Civil Liberties Union
The ACLU works daily in courts, legislatures and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guranteed to all people in this country by the Constitution and laws of the United States.  It offers various position papers on driver's licenses, identity cards and consular ids and how they relate to immigrants' rights.

Electronic Privacy Information Center
EPIC is a public interest research center in Washington, D.C. It was established in 1994 to focus public attention on emerging civil liberties issues and to protect privacy, the First Amendment, and constitutional values. This organization offers research on identity issues related to the Patriot Act, racial profiling, etc.

National Council of La Raza (NCLR)
NCLR is a private, nonprofit, organization established to reduce poverty and discrimination and improve life opportunities for Hispanic Americans.   NCLR works toward this goal through capacity-building assistance to support and strengthen Hispanic community based organizations and applied reseach, policy analysis, and advocacy.  NCLR has published various documents related to identity documents such as issue briefs, reports, etc.

National Employment Law Project
The National Employment Law Project (NELP) has advocated for over 30 years on behalf of low-wage workers, the poor, the unemployed, and other groups that face significant barriers to employment and government systems of support.   NELP has published various materials on ITINs and Driver's Licenses.

National Immigration Law Center (NILC)
A national support center whose mission is to protect and promote the rights and opportunities of low income immigrants and their family members.  NILC offers a wealth of information on Drivers' Licenses including state by state proposals, requirements, updates and related articles.
