Resources on Arizona’s Law SB 1070

On April 23, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed a law (SB 1070) that will require police to investigate the immigration status of persons they stop if there is “reasonable suspicion” the person is in the country illegally.  The new law is expected to lead to widespread racial profiling, and has further polarized the debate on immigration.  Across the country, immigrant rights groups, state and local governments, performers, civil rights groups, and others have announced they will protest Arizona’s actions by boycotting the state.  Several lawsuits have been filed, challenging Arizona’s actions in an arena that is a federal responsibility.

Following is a list of links to resources having to do with the Arizona law.  They include links to information explaining the law and the consequences of its implementation; to information about lawsuits to halt the implementation of SB 1070; information about boycott efforts; and other information.
