June 04, 2014
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Immigration Forum announced the hiring of a new Director of Communications and a new Director of Policy and Advocacy today.
Cathleen Farrell, formerly with the Inter-American Development Bank, will lead the communications team. With 30 years of experience as a bilingual communications expert and reporter, Ms. Farrell brings a wealth of knowledge to the table on leveraging communications and digital media on behalf of immigrants.
Jacinta Ma, previously with Asian Americans Advancing Justice, will head up the Forum’s policy team. Thanks to her decades of experience in the federal government and immigrant rights organizations, Ms. Ma brings a broad range of expertise on immigration and its impact on our nation.
Ali Noorani, Executive Director of the National Immigration Forum, welcomed the two new hires with the following statement:
“Cathleen and Jacinta are joining the National Immigration Forum at a critical time. With legislation likely on the move this summer, their expertise and leadership will be invaluable in the coming weeks and beyond.
“Their dedication and talent will help as we continue to press for commonsense immigration reform — and set about implementing an immigration agenda that ensures America prospers by making sure new Americans have the skills, opportunities and status to succeed.”
