WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to the Supreme Court decision today permitting full enforcement of the latest version of the Trump administration’s travel ban while litigation continues in the lower courts, the following is a statement from Ali Noorani, Executive Director of the National Immigration Forum:
“The Trump administration’s travel ban remains troublesome and continues to send the wrong message to Americans and our allies around the globe.
“Ensuring our national security and welcoming trade and tourism are not mutually exclusive. The travel ban hinders efforts to strengthen our economy, harming businesses that depend on foreign visitors and the workers they employ.
“All Americans are safer when our leaders choose practical solutions that align with our shared values over fear.”
