Standards Build Momentum for Reform in 2014
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Following Thursday’s release of House Republican standards for immigration reform, national and local Bibles, Badges and Business leaders from across the country have shown their support.
Local leaders from Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, Ohio, South Carolina, Utah and Wisconsin have added their voices to the national narrative applauding House leadership’s movement toward reform. In addition, local and national BBB leaders joined a press call to stress that the standards must lead to legislation.
“This support sends a powerful message to Congress,” said Ali Noorani, Executive Director of the National Immigration Forum. “Faith, law enforcement and business leaders from across the country recognize that we need a new immigration process. They see that the Republican standards will help us get there. And they are letting their members of Congress know that Americans are ready for broad, bipartisan immigration reform this year.”
