June 2, 2014 Convenes Nationwide Effort to Highlight Immigrant Impact

WASHINGTON, D.C. — As an important summer for immigration reform begins to ramp up, the Bibles, Badges and Business for Immigration Reform (BBB) network is pleased to join with and announce June as the first Immigrant Heritage Month.

The initiative includes individual, organizational and corporate partners across the country who will share inspirational immigrant stories and highlight the critical role of immigrants and immigration in our nation’s history and future.

“In the United States, with a good idea and enough hard work, anything is possible,” said Tolu Olubunmi, Executive Director of “American success is a result of our many distinct experiences, not in spite of it. Our goal is to encourage as many Americans as possible to tell the story of how they first felt welcomed to the American experience. Our history and stories will help determine our future.”

“Immigrants play a vital role in our nation’s churches, communities and economy,” added Ali Noorani, Executive Director of the National Immigration Forum. “It’s absolutely critical that we honor the innumerable contributions immigrants have made to this country. We must continue to welcome immigrants who come here to work hard and who in turn make us stronger. Our future will be brighter for it.”
