Policy Update: Senate Committee Completes Round 1 of Immigration Reform Markup

This policy update contains a summary of Senate Judiciary Committee action on the first day of markup of the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act. Focusing on Title I, border enforcement, the committee considered 32 amendments and accepted 21. All of the amendments that would have violated the bipartisan compromise were rejected.
